Sporting Events, Subjects, Skill Levels Click on one of the 10 sporting events, choose a math topic and one of four skill levels.
The game can be played in Practice Mode or Challenge Mode.
|
 |
Practice Mode
Answer 10 questions correctly. If you miss a problem, then the answer will be given to you. After you answer 10 questions correctly, you will automatically practice your event. For the practice mode, you do not get a time, score or measurement. You do not receive points for the 10 problems you answered correctly.
|
Challenge Mode
Answer as many problems as you can in one minute. The number of problems you answer correctly determines how well you do in each sporting event. If you answer more than 10 problems incorrectly, the game will stop an you will have a chance to correct them. In order to qualify for the Olympics in your event, 75% or more of your answers must be correct.
|
Your Mathlete performs best when you answer many problems quickly and accurately.
| For each personal best, you will be given a gold medal. When you are done in each event, you will be given a Time, Score or Measurement. Write it down on your competition log in column #1. |
Incorrect answers lose five points. You have a second chance to answer them correctly when the event is over. You earn two points for each problem you solve correctly.
You can check student records to verify which level they played and how well they did.
The top 10 Mathletes with the most points are listed in the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is the ultimate "prize" for most students. They love knowing they can bump, not only a classmate, but also someone from another class, out of position! But beware, some students will lower their competition level to get easier problems, just to score points. Always check 'personal best' records to verify that students have competed at the correct level.
